Procrastination is on the way out!
Is procrastination letting you down on achieving your dreams?
Well read on to find out that you really are normal and how to get motivated.
Let’s face it, at some point or another we have all found a million and one excuses to not complete a task or give up because something was ‘too hard’.
Can you place yourself in that dilemma? Well I know I can, I think I have probably become a pro at procrastination and this is why I was inspired to write this.
With the modern world that we live in, everything has to happen so fast-paced. There’s always something new coming out that you have to learn when it comes to technology and social media, things don’t stay the same and constant. I’m sure I spend at least 10 hours or more on facebook, and I’ll use the excuse “my business requires a lot of social media interaction”. Well this is true, but it’s not really working when I’m spending countless hours scrolling down my own personal facebook feed. Is this sound familiar to you?
Well you’re not alone. There are so many of us in the same boat who get caught up in it all. It doesn’t have to be social media, I’ll use the excuse of “I’m too tired” and not go to the gym. I do believe as human beings we can be easily distracted or give up just before we are about to be successful.
Being positive and staying on track requires a lot of discipline and self-management. I’m not a huge fan of to-do lists but I understand their value. It gets you focused and you can see what you have achieved. However, if you’re like me, I’ll add to the to-do list other things that I’ve done to make myself feel good that I’ve done something. So really it’s not achieving anything!
So how do I get myself motivated? Well I’ve learnt that I have to show up in my life. I’ve learnt that I need to have discipline and stick to routines and strategies that work for me. In order for me to acquire abundance I have to understand how to create it.
I stick to a routine of showing up for the spirit world and myself. Being a psychic medium I have to take care of me. I start my day with my morning ritual of asking for miracles and being open to new opportunities from the universe. I sit in the power (a stillness where I bring the spirit world to me), and chant to raise my vibration. I’ll also pull out a guidance or affirmation card for the day. Now it’s on the days where I don’t do this that everything goes pear-shaped. Maybe I’m having a bad morning with the kids or I’m feeling lazy. Well I pay the price as I don’t become as proactive as I could as I’ve noticed that my mind is so easily distracted on those days.
I’m juggling motherhood and running a business, so I try my hardest to have discipline and keep my phone away from me when I’m with my children and dedicate a few hours to playing and spending time with them – let’s just say this is a working progress!
One thing I find really helps to keep me motivated on my dreams is that I have my vision board and goals written up and on display in my room. It really does help to remind me as to why I want this and snaps me out of my procrastinating mood. There really are some tasks that are just tedious and one thing I have learnt is to outsource. I don’t have to do everything myself, I can have others doing things for me. This cuts down my procrastination because I can spend time doing what I’m good at and enjoy doing.
As a psychic medium I read for people everyday offering guidance and insight on what lies ahead, and what I love is when positive unexpected outcomes are presented, or making someone aware of opportunities that may present themselves.
However, as much as this guidance is offered, it’s up to you to do the hard yards and make it happen. I really wish sitting on your bum twiddling your thumbs did that, but it doesn’t, well not for the majority of us anyway. It’s about being proactive and showing up in your life and having some discipline for yourself.
So find a routine you can do everyday to help start you off positively. You are the only one responsible for what happens to you. The world is going to keep on spinning no matter what you decide to do.
So let’s beat this procrastination dilemma and stick it to laziness and fear! Tell yourself “I am ready and receptive to be motivated and productive to achieve my goals and dreams” Make this your new mantra.
